Replaces the worm gear in Bell & Howell Filmosound projectors, such as the 2580. The original worm gear is made of nylon and experiences plastic fatigue – even well-maintained or unused projectors experience this problem. If your worm gear isn't broken but your projector still isn't right, it might be the other gear: https://www.printables.com/model/1211740-bell-howell-filmosound-other-gear I designed this myself in Fusion 360 and printed it in PETG. I then press-fit it onto the original aluminum holder with a bit of glue. It seems to work just fine, but your mileage may vary. UPDATE: After printing it in PETG and watching a long movie, the gear started to melt, so I have updated it to be slightly smaller and also printed it again in PA-GF. ------------------- Note: Actually getting at and replacing the gear is an absolute massive project, requiring special tools and many hours of work – plus no guarantee you'll get your projector back in working order.
