My printed gears kept stripping out so I wanted to replace them with steel gears. There is a set on amazon that roughly matches the dimensions used in the original -- "Hot Racing STE258 Steel Pinion and Spur Gear Set (18T/58T 32P)(Blue) - Traxxas" Link: http://a.co/9eu8Ire Best $26 I've spent on this project so far. The new axle is also symmetrically balanced so the rear end doesn't vibrate so aggressively at high speeds. Works with stock wheels and bearings. The tolerance is purposely very tight on the axle and the gear attachment part - you will have to sand/file them to fit. The gear attachment piece is made to fit inside the gear and is attached with 3 M3 bolts. The slightly curved side goes towards the gear face. Added an axle for the 2017 updates - I have not tested it personally! Print Settings Notes: I printed this with a polyjet machine but it should be FDM printable no problem. Category: R/C Vehicles
