2026-02-11 - UPDATE - Revision 3. I have further improved the design to remedy the issue some of us were having with the bearing not fitting correctly. Depending on printer/filament calibration, bearing fitment could be either too tight or too loose. I have added some compliant mechanism features to the model, making the bearing fit "perfect" every time. You will still need a bit of force to push the bearing into place, but it will result in a snug fit. I have chosen to keep version 2 available for now, just in case someone wants it, but I highly recommend using version 3. - - - - - - - - Filament spool adapter available in various sizes to fit multiple brands of spools. Measure the spool hole diameter and choose accordingly. Available in 54 mm, 56 mm, 58 mm, 60 mm, 62 mm, and 77 mm diameters. If you need other sizes, just let me know. This adapter takes a single 608 bearing. (2 adapters and bearings / spool.) Suggested print materials include PETG, ASA, and ABS, as PLA loses its "springiness" over time. No supports are needed. If you struggle with the small details (ends of the lobes) not sticking well, try slowing down the first-layer print speed to a snail's pace, or enable the external perimeters first option in your slicer. Alternatively, use mouse ears to support these areas of the print.
