I print a lot of TPU so I prefer not to use a reverse Bowden tube to feed the filament. To reduce drag that stretches flexible filament, I feed the filament from an overhead bearing hub reel holder, down and directly into the extruder. Without the Bowden tube on the SV08, the extruder cable flops around, drags across the print, catches on the gantry and is pinched when homing the printer. I created a flexible cable chain to prevent these problems. I prefer the shorter 160 mm length of cable chain but I also provided a full length 640 mm cable chain that fully encloses the entire length of the extruder cable. The cable chain is printed in two parts to fit on the print bed, so the angled ends key into each other in the middle of the cable. You may need to nip off one or two of the 10 mm segments at the extruder because I designed this to ensure it will be long enough if your extruder cable is slightly longer than mine. The full length cable chain is a bit stiff and seemed overly constrained but some people may prefer more control over the cable. The 160 mm cable chain does allow the cable to loop a bit sideways but it's a minimally constrained solution that keeps the cable well out of the way. You'll need to print two parts - the cable chain and the support base. Both are printed from 95A durometer TPU. The support is secured to the cable clamp at the rear of the printer with two of the medium size 50 pound tensile strength cable ties. I prefer the low profile cable ties as shown because they look nicer and the cut end disappears into the head of the cable tie so it can't cut anyone. The cable ties are optional. The support base is a snug fit on the cable clamp. I provided the FreeCAD files if you'd like to modify this design, the STL files if you want to use your own slicer, the OrcaSlicer files if you want to make changes to how it prints, and I tried to upload the G code files so you could download and print the parts directly on your SV08 printer but Printables didn't like the G code, reporting “File contains unsupported code EXCLUDE_OBJECT_DEFINE”. The G Code is on my Thingiverse account.
