Keeping it simple, this clip grabs and holds spooled filament in place so that it doesn't get tangled when stowed. A good solution for all 1.75mm filaments because it's design doesn't rely on the shape or other properties of the spool. Print 10 clips without raft or supports in less than half an hour using less than 5 grams.
Instructions
Print without raft or supports, but pay careful attention to nozzle clearance off the bed. Too far and it won't stick, but too close and the opening will close up. Print with a 0.2mm resolution for a snug fit, 0.1mm for a tight one. Print with 2 shells, but the clips are so small that shell count and infill almost don't matter. Successfully sliced using PrusaSlicer & Simplify3D, printed on Prusa, CR-10, Taz 3, Printrbot Simple & FlashForges. ABS or PLA, it's all good.
