A hand-painted resin knight miniature with a sword and shield on a round base, against a plain grey backdrop

Your dog, every marking in place

A realistic full-body figurine, sculpted from your photos and hand painted in their real colours.

Not a breed model with your dog's colours painted on. A figurine of your dog: the patch over one eye, the ears that do their own thing, the way they stand when someone is at the door. We have been asked for this through our quote form, and it comes down to two things, good photos and a sculpt you approve before anything is printed.

What to send us

How a coat becomes a figure

Breeds share a shape; individual dogs do not. We start from your dog's proportions in the side-on photos rather than from a breed standard, so a stocky one stays stocky and a long-legged cross stays long-legged. A mixed breed is no harder than a pedigree, as long as the photos are good.

Coat texture is sculpted into the model, so a wiry coat, a smooth one and a long feathered one all read differently before any paint goes on. It is then hand painted to your photos, with the markings where they actually are on your dog rather than where the breed usually has them.

You see renders before anything is printed and can ask for changes. It is printed in resin for the detail in the fur and the face, painted by hand, and set on its base.

Size, material and finish

Size
Standard, around 15cm, or large, around 20cm. Larger leaves more room for coat texture and fine markings.
Colour
Hand painted, full colour, matched to your photos.
Material
Resin, for the finest detail.
Base
Engraved with their name or a line of your choosing, plain, or none.
Finish
Matte reads most like real fur. Gloss suits a sleek short coat if you prefer it.

How long it takes

The quote comes back within one working day with a lead time. Sculpting and hand painting take the time, so if it is a gift for a birthday or Christmas, give us the date in the form and we will tell you straight away whether it is achievable. Finished figures are posted tracked anywhere in New Zealand.

Questions

My dog will not sit still for photos. What works?

Lots of quick phone photos rather than one perfect one. Get down to their level, outside in daylight, and have someone hold a treat off to one side to turn their head. A pile of imperfect photos from every side beats two good ones from the front.

Can you do two dogs together?

Yes, on a shared base or as two separate figures. Send photos of each, and one of them together if you have it, so their sizes against each other come out right.

Is it a breed figure or my actual dog?

Your actual dog. The sculpt is built from your photos, and you approve it before it is printed.
