A family figurine works when you can glance at it from across the room and see who is who. That comes from two things: each face being right, and everyone standing at their real height next to each other, so the teenager towers over a parent and the youngest only comes up to a hip. It suits a milestone, such as a big birthday, an anniversary, a new arrival, or grandparents who have everything.

What to send us

Keeping everyone recognisable

Every extra person on a base means a little less room for each face. Four people on a 15cm base gives each one far less space than a single figure of the same height, so we will suggest a size that keeps everyone recognisable, and a slightly stylised look if the family is large.

Each person is sculpted from their own photos, then the group is arranged together at their real heights. Holding hands, arms around shoulders, a toddler on someone's hip, all of it is possible, and it is settled on the renders before anything is printed.

You see the whole group before it goes to the printer and can ask for changes to any one person. It is then printed in resin, finished in full colour, and fixed to one base.

Size, material and finish

Size
Large, around 20cm, or extra large, 25cm or more, suits a family of four or more. Standard, around 15cm, suits a couple with a child or a pet.
Colour
Hand painted, full colour, or a full colour print.
Material
Resin, for the finest detail in the faces.
Base
One shared base, plain or engraved with the family name or a date.
Likeness
As close to the photos as possible, or recognisable and slightly stylised, which often suits a big group better.

How long it takes

The quote comes back with a lead time before you commit. A group takes longer than a single figure because each person is sculpted in turn, so for Christmas, a birthday or an anniversary, put the real date in the form and we will tell you honestly whether it can be met.

Questions

Can we include someone who has passed away?

Yes. Send the photos you have of them. We work from the clearest ones, and you see the sculpt before anything is printed.

Can it be a surprise?

Yes, as long as you can find a clear face photo of each person. Recent group photos and holiday snaps often have enough, and we will tell you if anyone needs a better one.

What if the family grows?

A single figure of a new arrival can be made later at the same scale and in the same style, to stand beside the group.
