There are plenty of reasons to want a small version of yourself. A retirement gift that is you in your work overalls. A figure for the grandparents. A mini me in your race kit, your tramping gear or your band T-shirt. Or just because it is funny to have one on your desk. Whatever the reason, it starts with a handful of phone photos.

What to send us

True to life, or a cartoon of you

There are two good ways to make a mini me. True to life, with natural proportions, where the likeness comes from your actual face and build. Or stylised, with a larger head and simpler detail, which is more playful and much more forgiving of average photos. Choose on the form, or ask us to suggest one from your photos.

Clothing and gear are sculpted from photos of the real thing, so your hi-vis, your helmet or your favourite jacket look like yours rather than a generic version of them.

You see renders before anything is printed and can ask for changes. It is then printed in resin and finished in full colour.

Size, material and finish

Size
Standard, around 15cm, is the usual mini me. Small, around 10cm, suits a desk or the top of a cake.
Colour
Hand painted, full colour, or a full colour print.
Material
Resin, for the finest detail in the face.
Base
Plain, engraved, or none.
Likeness
As close to the photos as possible, recognisable but slightly stylised, or a cartoon version.

How long it takes

The quote comes back with a lead time before you commit. If it is for a farewell, a birthday or Christmas, put the real date in the form and we will tell you honestly whether it can be met. Posted tracked anywhere in New Zealand.

Questions

Can I order one of someone else as a gift?

Yes. If it is a surprise, look through recent photos for a clear face in daylight and a full length shot. Our realistic figurine page has more on which photos work best.

Can I be holding something, like a guitar or a fishing rod?

Yes. Send photos of the real one and it is sculpted from those. Very thin things like rods and drumsticks may be thickened slightly so they survive the post, and you will see that on the renders first.

Can you make several copies?

Yes. Once the sculpt exists, extra copies are printed from the same file, which is handy for a whole family or a team. Put how many you want on the form.
