10R80 CDF Air Check Tool

Pressure testing from the transmission housing ports isn't reliable. After building up the CDF hub and installing clutches, you can pressure test it to make sure none of the seals are damaged. Also good for checking clutch clearances.

There are two different files. The one I prefer (with V grooves) is optimized for clean printing, requiring no supports. This makes removing the print from the CDF hub difficult because the o-rings want to use the groove as a ramp and wedge themselves in place. If you would rather have easier removal from the CDF hub, the standard print is also available. This version needs supports, which I hate using. But, if you have a printer that can use multiple filaments, you might be able to use PLA for supports if you are using PETG as the main print material.

The V groove version also has the feature of providing a better seal if the tool is installed and pushed back just a bit. This forces the o-ring into the walls of the CDF hub bushing.

I print in PETG. Seems to work well being around ULV transmission fluid.

I used 8 walls, 8 top layers, 8 bottom layers and 30% infill. 3 walls, 3 top layers, 3 bottom layers, and 15% infill was not strong enough. Recommend strong prints to hold up to higher pressures.

Caution: Work safe. Pressurizing plastic can cause sudden fragmentation. Has happened to me. Recommend using a pressure regulator and working with low pressures.
