More information

If, like me, you might have a handful of empty eSun spools. This clamp allows you to use refills without needing the dedicated eSpool from eSun. Simply cut the spool in half, insert the refill filament, and clamp the spool together using this design.

The clamp consists of a shaft and a screw. I've also created a small spanner to help tighten the screw, but it's not strictly necessary. The tool fits into the other side for storage (only if a hygrometer is not used).

The clamp sits flush against the spool surface, allowing the refilled spool to fit back into its original box for storage. I recommend placing the spool inside a zip lock bag with a couple of silica gel packets to keep the filament dry. One side of the clamp features a 42mm hole, which fits a standard hygrometer.

Printed with PLA, 0.2mm Layer height. No brim and support needed.
