Core One Left Bay SpaceDock: Modular Drawers + Magnetic Door

This project turns the empty left-side bay of the Prusa Core One into a compact, clean and highly practical storage module.

The system is a fully modular cabinet built from:

• a rigid outer frame (4 side walls + top/bottom),

• an internal divider panel,

• three drawers (top / middle / bottom),

• a full-height front door for the left compartment.

Everything is designed to feel “OEM-like”: flat panels, aligned faces, and a secure closure thanks to embedded magnets. The drawers are sized for small tools, spare parts, nozzle boxes, cleaning items, and general printer accessories. The bottom drawer is deeper and works well for bulkier items.

Door hinge note

The door hinge pin is intentionally simple: it is made from a short piece of 1.75 mm filament (PLA/PETG both work well). Cut it to length, insert it as the pivot pin, and you’re done.

• Self-tapping screws Ø3 mm × 7 mm — 12 pcs

Printing notes (recommended)

• Print the structural panels with enough perimeters for stiffness (the door benefits from extra walls).

• Use supports only where needed (most parts should be support-friendly by design).

• Dry-fit the magnets before final press-fit or glue, and keep polarity consistent across mating faces.
