Desk Cable Clamp - Parametric Minimalistic Cable Management for your desk (Updated!!!)

A fully parametric cable guide to help clean up the cable clutter on your desk.

• Modified design, added printable thumb screw and nut + washer on recommendation from @Ajoli_112854, I'm not sure I'd trust a 3D printed fastener at this myself but you're more than welcome to if you'd like (The design is still compatible with regular old M6 Nuts and Bolts too of course!) • Added separate f3d and f3z files: I just realised that the configuration options do not carry over when you export as f3d files, so now I've added both Slotted and Unslotted f3d files, along with an f3z file that WILL let you mess around with configuration options, but needs you to open it through fusion's File > Open… menu option (clicking on the file will throw an error).

Especially great with coiled cables like the one found on the Beyerdynamic DT990 (pictured), as the holes allows the cable to dangle off at the side of the desk, and are large enough for the entire coil to slide through neatly when you want to put it on!

Clamps onto the side of your desk with an M6 Nut + Bolt, which allows you fasten it snuggly to your desk without needing to drill into it or use some kind of double sided tape.

Use the fusion file to customise the part to be a perfect fit for your use case. Use the Configurations options to select between the version with and without a slot (to pass the cable in from behind; useful for things like power cables where passing it through the hole may not be practical).

Parametric Fusion 360

• Upload and open F3D file in Fusion 360 (free) and then open parameters. • Modify > Change Parameters. • Edit any field and watch it update. • Sometimes things will break, so scale back your change and see if it works that way.

Key Parameter Fields

• Holes: Sets the number of holes on the part, match this to the number of cables (Default: 1) • HoleDiameter: Sets the size of the hole to pass your cable through (Default: 20mm) • TableThickness: Thickness of the edge of the table onto which the part is clamped onto (Default: 29mm) • BoltDiameter: Diameter of the clamping bolt (Default: M6) • TableEdgeDepth: Sets the size of the clamp section, thus allowing the part to snuggle right up to the edge of the table. Set this to the length of your table's "overhang". (Default: 23mm) • NutWidth: Width of the nut (Default 10mm for M6) • CableDiameter: Sets the dimensions of the cable guide to snuggly hold your cable (Default: 4mm)

Printing instructions:

The slotless configuration of the part was designed to be printable without any supports when laid out sideways (See images) The cable guides have been adequately chamfered to be printable without supports.

If you do need a slot, make sure you enable supports/set it up in some other way.

Usage instructions:

An M6 Nut fits nicely into the space left for it, and a bolt holds this tightly to your desk. Pass the cable through the hole, and use the guide to hold it in place.
