Description

I lost the original gimbal clamp for my DJI Osmo Pocket 4, so I needed a quick replacement to keep the gimbal secure during transport and storage. Instead of buying a replacement, I decided to model and print my own.

This is my first serious attempt at designing a functional 3D printed part completely from scratch. I took all measurements manually and built the model myself without using an existing reference file. Because of that, the design is quite simple and not highly refined in terms of aesthetics, but it fulfills its purpose reliably.

The main goal was purely functionality: to hold the gimbal in place when the device is powered off and prevent any unwanted movement that could potentially stress or damage the mechanism during transport. The clamp fits properly and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

For added protection, I wrapped electrical tape around the part that comes into contact with the lens area. I did this to avoid direct plastic-to-camera contact and reduce any risk of scratching or pressure marks.

I intentionally did not spend too much time on visual refinement or advanced detailing. For now, I focused on making a working solution. My design skills are still very beginner-level, and I tend to prioritize function over appearance. I also tend to avoid spending too much time on cosmetic improvements at this stage.

That said, in the future I would like to redesign this part to better match the camera’s aesthetics and improve ergonomics. Once my modeling skills improve, I plan to revisit and refine this design properly.

If you lost your original clamp or just need a simple backup solution, this model should help.
