Extrudr Spool Filament Clip v2 + Weight Database

An inline filament clip for Extrudr spools.

Well … several actually, as Extrudr uses a bunch of different spools.

The clip weighs 1.06g and the filament can be clipped-in/removed without removing the clip.

The clip can remain inside the spool.

As the Extrudr-Spools have only one spot with 2-holes, I have added a version that will clip into a single hole. It may not stay straight, but maybe that's ok with you.

Seeking for your input! / Help required

I'm looking for measurements of any Extrudr spool I have not yet encountered.

e.g.:

• 2kg L spool

• 5kg XL spool

• 10kg XXL spool

If you have a version of those, please drop me a message with the following measurements:

• use caliper, measure inner distance between two holes

• use caliper, measure diameter of a hole, or several to get an average

• width of spool plastic wall, where the hole is

Printing

• 100% infill

• print nipple up - lay flat on face with filament recess

• recommend layer height between 0.20mm to 0.40mm

• good with 0.6mm nozzle but everything else works too

• no supports

• with smooth printbed, edges of filament recess will melt a bit inward, holding the filament even better. You might have to thread it in and not be able to push it in from the side.

• with textured printbed, there is no inward melting, you can push the filament in from the side.

• tighter bend, smaller diameter, higher clip, so filament will hold even better.

• a comment by @newyen_359607 made me re-check ALL my Extrudr spools, where I discovered that at least one differs quite a bit.
