Update 20.09.2023

I made 2 improved versions from the original one. The original version had the problem that the leg broke quite often at the joint to the lug that prevented bending. I opened the lug, so the new design has at least 2 advantages:

• Due to the open design, the spring tension is distributed over the whole part and breaking is no issue anymore • The log is open now so it is possible to introduce a closed loop like the ones I braid for my USB Sticks and other things (see pictures)

The “Key clip open” versions follow this design.

For those who do not care much about spring tension I also made a print-in-place part, so you do not need to put the leg / inside bar inside the part anymore, as it is printed inside. You will have a 0,3mm gap, but this is okay for many applications. These are the “print in place” versions.

See the pictures, STL's and gcode files for more details.

There are again sizes from 15mm to 50mm available.

I also made a special narrow USB-Stick design to save space on the Keyring. The leg thickness is improved to make it sturdy again.

This design was inspired by RaQic's Key Clip (https://www.printables.com/de/model/85579-key-clip). As I Primarily need it to attach all my USB-sticks to a keyring for the Computer backpack, it was way too big.

So I designed my own one in Freecad and made it parametrizable.

There is a table in Freecad where you may adjust the length (Groesse), the width (Breite) and the thickness (Dicke).

Currently, it is designed that the width and the thickness is adjusted automatically depending on the length. But you may override that of course.

There are some sizes as stl models, from 15mm to 50mm.

The model can be printed without support. Best printed in ABS or PETG, as PLA may be a bit too brittle for the task.

The inside bar is printed outwards, so the clip will have a good preloaded spring tension. Therefore, you need to pull the bar inwards after printing to get the clip finished. Should work without breaking it on ABS and PETG, I did not test it with PLA.

Let me know if you have any comments, proposals to improve the design or just want a special size and not want to fiddle around with Freecad.
