Keychain C-Clamp

Introduction

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you were out and about and suddenly needed to clamp two tiny things together? Well this is an end to your woes! Now you can have a c-clamp permanently attached to your keys which can be whipped out and used in a moments notice!

Jokes aside, this might not be the most functional tool and certainly shouldn't be used to clamp lumbar together but is a fun addition to any makers keychain and does actually work as a tiny c-clamp.

Parts List

1 x M3 bolt 30mm Length

1x M3 Threaded Insert up to 6mm length

Super glue or thread lock (optional)

Print settings

You wont need any supports for this one. Print with at least 4 walls and around 50% infill. Use more walls and infill if you want the clamp to be more robust - there is no harm in printing it solid.

Construction

Using a soldering iron you will need to heat set the threaded insert into the 4mm hole at the top of the clamp. Pressing it against a flat surface will ensure it is flat and level.

The handle and cap both have M3 threads inside them but there will still be a lot of resistance while installing the bolt into these. This is by design as they need to be a good tight fit. You can use a drop of glue or thread lock to hold them in place if you wish and I used an M3 tap to clean out the threads on the printed parts before installation.
