Maglev Rail Desk Fidget Toy

Requires 10 circular magnets that are 18 mm diameter and 3 mm thick. Found on Amazon.

Assembly

• First print the bottom, top, and center pieces in PLA or similar. Recommended supports are specified in the .3mf and .bgode files. • For the top piece, fully insert one magnet into each side slot ensuring that the same magnetic pole is facing outward for each magnet. • For the bottom piece, fully insert two magnets into each side slot ensuring that all four magnets have the same pole facing outward as those magnets in the top piece. • For the center piece, fully insert one magnet into each side slot ensuring that all four magnets have the same pole facing outward as those magnets in the top and bottom pieces. • Print the stand while placing the other pieces onto the stand rails in the correct orientation during printing. The stand .3mf and .bgode files have three print pauses built-in to allow for placing the A) bottom piece, B) center piece, and finally C) top piece onto the stand rails during printing in order to lock them in place. The center and top pieces will levitate on the rails during printing. Be sure to place the bottom and top pieces on the rails in the correct orientation. The orientation of the center piece is the same either way since it is symmetrical. • After printing completes, may need to slide the three pieces along the rails a few times to smooth any protrusions created from pausing the printing. • Post a Make or even a Re-Mix here on this listing…thanks!

Operation:

Fidget by moving the center piece up and down. If you hold the entire stand in your hand, you can move the bottom piece up and down to move the other two pieces as well.
