More information
Mount your Neptune Systems Trident & Trident NP to a vertical surface. Usually the vertical panel of an aquarium stand or a wall.
There are 4 variants and 1 optional part. Only print out the piece(s) for the variant you want.
• Two piece right mounting • Two pieces that slide lock together, sized to fit a Prusa Mk3/IV size printer plate. The ‘wave’ design is the interlocking slide locking shape. • ‘right mounting’ means if you are looking at your aquarium, this will mount on the ‘right side’ of a vertical panel/wall with the front of the trident facing towards you. • Print both of these • rear_right.stl • front_right.stl
• Two piece left mounting • Two pieces that slide lock together, sized to fit a Prusa Mk3/IV size printer plate. The ‘wave’ design is the interlocking slide locking shape. • ‘left mounting’ means if you are looking at your aquarium, this will mount on the ‘left side’ of a vertical panel/wall with the front of the trident facing towards you. The included picture is ‘left mounting’ • Print both of these files: • rear_left.stl • front_left.stl
• One piece right mounting • If you have a printer that can print 312mm x 150mm, you can skip the two piece design and use this .stl. I print these on my Voron 2.4 350mm. • ‘right mounting’ means if you are looking at your aquarium, this will mount on the ‘right side’ of a vertical panel/wall with the front of the trident facing towards you. • Print this single file: • unified_right.stl
• One piece left mounting • If you have a printer that can print 312mm x 150mm, you can skip the two piece design and use this .stl. I print these on my Voron 2.4 350mm. • ‘left mounting’ means if you are looking at your aquarium, this will mount on the ‘left side’ of a vertical panel/wall with the front of the trident facing towards you. The included picture is ‘left mounting’ • Print this single file: • unified_left.stl
• Support (optional) • When I first created this shelf I was worried about layer splits and the shelf dropping the Trident. Printing in ABS with good layer adhesion you probably don't need this, but it adds piece of mind. • How I used this was to mount the support, then laye the top piece(s) on top, mark the mounting hole locations, and screw everything in. I didn't glue the top pieces to the support as this was just a backup for the weight of the Trident. • Print this single file, for either left or right mounting versions. • support.stl
printing tips:
• These are large and flat, so layer adhesion and chamber temps (depending on filament) is important to avoid warping. • Layer adhesion is the next most important thing. Use dry filament, print at the right temps, get your extrusion settings dialed in (or have them slightly over-extrude as exact dimensions aren't important here) • PETG is probably the easiest, ABS is still my favorite when everything is dialed in just right.
