nut retainer for fiskars gardening/kitchen shears

• Good fix for my fave scissors. M5 nut needed. • 1-2-24 Long overdue update: added customizer parameters to the Open SCAD script and generated an STL for M3 based screw, nut, and washer(s). This makes the retainer stronger and can thus be printed flat with supports inside the hole as shown. Sideways printing should still generate a stronger print.

<s>choose an extrusion width of 0.2 mm or less and activate "detect thin walls". place upside down in the slicer as shown and activate supports. the support can then easily be removed by pushing it through the hole with an allen wrench.</s>

• Revised print instructions: place sideways in the slicer as shown and print with a 0.2 mm layer *height* with supports on buildplate only. Support peels off quite nicely indeed. Use a drop of lubricating oil underneath the retainer to help reduce metal/plastic friction. • Revision 1-2-24: added an M3 based retainer that can still be printed flat as shown in the screenshot, though sideways should still yield better strength.
