More information

This little toy is pretty simple. You fill the top with a handful of dry treats, screw on the base, and then put it out for your kitty. As they bat at the toy, it'll tip enough to drop a treat. The base should be heavy enough to return the toy to an upright position most of the time (even when it doesn't, it seems to eventually get back there with enough play based on my in-house feline testers).

I printed this in regular PLA with .2mm layers in quality mode. It shouldn't need support. I didn't need a brim with mine, however, if your bed adhesion isn't as strong, you may want a brim for the top part since there is only a small ring that contacts the bed surface.

I printed everything at 15% infill except the bottom 18mm of the base. For that, I put on an override to set the infill to 100% for those very bottom layers only to give the object enough weight to return to an upright position. You need the very bottom to be quite a bit heavier than the top if you want that action to work. If you don't care about that feature, it should still print fine at 15% infill, it'll just roll around instead of sit up once it's played with by the kitty.

I'm including a 3MF file that has both the top & bottom and includes the special 100% infill setting. That should work if you just set it to your printer & filament. If you want to experiment yourself, a slightly lower infill might still work and/or 100% infill but for fewer layers. 18mm @ 100% infill was the sweet spot for me with the particular PLA I used, but your mileage may vary.

I'm including the STEP files as well if that's helpful. If you want to modify the design (e.g. to add/remove treat holes), the easiest way to is copy my workspace on OnShape since it's a public model:

Huge shout out to TeachingTech for his video encouraging people to enter a Prusa design competition and his great videos on how to use CAD software (OnShape in this case).
