I came up with an idea to organize all kinds of cables we have in our laboratory in one place, and a pillar we have almost in the middle of the lab was always empty.
So, I clamped it with some aluminum profiles and designed three cable hangers: one with 5 mm spacing, the other with 7 mm spacing (for thicker cables), and third one for hanging power cords. The aluminum profile on which the hanger for power cords is mounted does not hold the entire weight of them, so I quickly made two spacers, which hold against the wall.
After installing everything it turned out to be pretty great looking and very much functional. Everyone now finds any cable at one place, nicely categorized.
