More information
Front-plate mounted arm to hold a Raspberry Pi Camera module, includes a ribbon cable channel that runs through the height of the arm.
I've included 3 variants with different heights, the short one (the 95mm high, and which extends 90mm to the left of the plate) version, and the one pictured here and in the other images) is around the same level as the extruder nozzle, see below:
The higher ones offer a nicer view of the printed model, but are more susceptible to wobbling.
The included Fusion 360 source file is parametric, so you can create your own heights and also adjust how far left the arm extends by tweaking the following parameters
Post you makes (:
Printing
Print with PLA for the stiffness, add as many perimeters as you're comfortable with. I did 5 with a 0.4 nozzle and 0.2 layer height.
The long models have significantly more wobble than the stubby one, I'm not sure an even greater number of perimeters would prevent this; but they do provide a very nice over view of the print.
Installation
Unscrew the front plate screws (left side), do not put any weight on the bed while the screws are off, it might cause the extrusion to move away from the screw holes.
Place the mount and reattach the screws, screw all 4 of them lightly, then proceed to tighten them in a diagonal pattern (as per the assembly manual's recommendations)
Insert the Camera Module's ribbon cable through the channel, then screw in the ball mount.
Snap the Camera housing onto the ball.
What you will need
• Sneak's back and front covers • I'm using a Camera Module v3, so I used this remix by @DocWeebl instead
• My remix of Sneak's ball mount, that uses an M3 heat set insert, found here • A M3 heat set insert (and something to heat it) • A M3 10mm SHCS bolt
Mentions
• The hole pattern and cutout have been inspired by @Shadow_166024's G4 instant mount • I used @iop22's 3030 extrusion reference model to model the cutouts for the mount
